Introduction
Aria Cello Quartet is composed of young Taiwanese cellists CHOU Shang-Hua, CHIU Yi-Hsun, YEH Shu-Wei and LIAO Chih-Ya who studied in Germany. From many years ago, the four studied cello at various times with Norbert Anger, principal cellist of the Staatskapelle Dresden. After returning home to Taiwan, they decided to form a cello quartet under the name of "Aria", to present the beauty of cello repertoire within classical music. The Cello Quartet is a rare form of quartet that has been brought to the campus of a National Cheng Kung University. In modern society, we believe that music serves as a bridge for communication, and as musicians, we must be open-minded to convey the concepts of linking the characteristics and styles of each era. By reinterpreting them to bridge the depths of classical and modern thinking, our listeners living in modern times will feel as if they were transported to the presence of the composers of the past, re-tasting these forgotten eras, and feeling the rich meaning conveyed in these classics of the past.
