National Cheng Kung University Directions for Establishment of Committee of Performative Events

1. In order to strengthen the function of Cheng-Kung Auditorium, facilitate the promotion of on-campus/off-campus performative events and upgrade the quality of artistic and cultural activities, National Cheng Kung University (hereinafter referred to as "NCKU") enacts these Directions for Establishment of "Committee of Performative Events of Cheng-Kung Auditorium in NCKU" (hereinafter referred to as the "Committee") in accordance with Article 8 of the Directions Governing Facilities Services for Rooms Managed by Office of General Affairs of NCKU.

 

2. The Committee shall be dedicated to reviewing the applications among the on-campus/off-campus performing arts groups for the organization of performative events in Cheng-Kung Auditorium.

 

3. The application for the organization of performative events in Cheng-Kung Auditorium shall be in compliance with any of the following circumstances and be subject to the review and approval by the Committee:

(1) For the organization of professional performative events;

(2) For the organization of performative events for public welfare in nature;

(3) For the organization of performative events for international cultural exchange;

(4) For the organization of performative events by excellent student clubs.

 

4. The Committee consists of 9 to13 members, who shall be appointed by the Director of Art Center subject to approval by the President of NCKU in accordance with Article 8 of the Directions Governing Facilities Services for Rooms Managed by Office of General Affairs in NCKU. The Director of Art Center, Dean of General Affairs, Dean of Student Affairs and Director of the Center of General Education shall serve as the ex officio members. The members shall include the experts/scholars specialized in arts & cultures no less than the one-half majority of the whole members, who shall serve the term of office of one year and may be reappointed upon expiration of the term of office.

 

5. The Director of Art Center shall serve as the convener of the Committee. Where it is impossible for the convener to chair the Committee meeting with causes, the convener may appoint one member to act as the chairperson on behalf of him/her. The Committee meeting shall be attended by more than one-half majority of all members, and a resolution may be adopted only upon agreement of the one-half majority of the members present at the meeting.  The members shall attend the Committee meeting in person. Where it is impossible for any ex officio member to attend the meeting in person, he/she shall designate a proxy to attend the meeting on behalf of him/her.

 

6. Subject to the numbers of applications, the Committee may hold a review conference from time to time, and conduct the review via video conference, if necessary.

 

7. The Committee members shall hold the position without pay, provided that the non-campus members, if any, may claim attendance fees and transportation subsidy pursuant to the relevant requirements.

 

8. These Directions shall be effective after being approved by a meeting of the Chief Administrators Council. The same shall be applied where these Directions are amended.
